120g Acrylic Acropora Addiction (1 Viewer)

This is one of my favorites. I grew this from a tiny frag 10 years ago then shut the tank down. I’ve tried it three times in my current tank with no success. Sometimes it seems that the coral you like most becomes the hardest to keep. IMG_0473.jpeg

Why I’ll never give up T5 even if fancy tenuous look blah under it. No filter under full spectrum.

Da BLUE.

Just goes to show, it’s not all about what other people like. I 100% agree. That’s a super cool piece.

Yay! Bye bye devil dinos

Saltilocks update:

Couple weeks in to using Fritz and seeing some coralline go white. Parameters were drifting a bit low but nothing I haven’t seen before. Not sure if there’s some element missing and I’m due for an ICP so I’ll see. Probably also run one of a new batch of Fritz salt since there isn’t one available anywhere online.

Both forest lake pets and sealevel have this salt on hand last I stopped by. I believe they each had both red and blue boxes.

"Salitlocks," I love it. When you say parameters drifted low, are you referring to the ones you posted? Or also things like nutrients? Didn't you mention something about phosphate levels several weeks/months back? Delayed reaction on the coralline? I remember a video from Abe when he talked about how things in our tanks tend to only show the signs of change after weeks/months, and that dummies like me that change 4 things at once then don't know what actually helped turn things around :)

In any case, the ICP sounds smart. And if you get some results on a fresh batch of Fritz, I wonder if the person on R2R that has the "definitive" salt ICP thing would consider adding in your results to their table.

Nutrients have been very stable since I started dosing a couple ppm of calcium nitrate a couple times a week. Parameters above are tank parameters.

I know Ryan (salt test guy) did 2x ATI ICP for each salt. I ain’t doing that lol but it will be good to have a baseline for stuff like strontium.

I love this shot.

Did you just plop a clam on a rock in the middle of your Turbinaria?
