Hi, I'm fairly new here. Since the folks here are probably fairly familiar with local fish stores, I was going to ask if anyone's seen any stores recently with good selection of female betta fish. Looking to get my daughter her first aquarium of her own. But it doesn't seem like that's a question that would fits anywhere. Maybe we could have a subforum for questions that don't fit? I noticed the sub-forums and forum titles are very specific. I was wondering if that's on purpose to keep out off-topic discussions?

Ehh the forums are more like guidelines than actual rules. General Reef Forum would probably be a good spot for it even if it isn't reefing related.
But yeah, I thought we had an offtopic forum somewhere...
We did, it was archived many BODs ago. If my memory serves correctly, it attracted a lot of unsavory posts that required increased moderation. The BOD at the time decided to ax it.
There was a freshwater forum too that was archived recently as part of the BOD's effort to cleanup the forum list. It hadn't had a post in years and was an easy target
