I was trying to get some work done today in the tank, and found it it be a really hard thing to do.. I have a single clownfish and a watchman goby, and the clownfish will just attack me the entire time. I enjoy working in my tank, but this makes it very hard to do anything in there as I am getting bit and harassed the entire time I am in there. The fish will grab hold and try to tear me apart (as I type this I see the bite marks on my hand).

Does anyone else have this problem? and if so, what do you do to try to guard against it? Thanks

keep your hand out of his home! LOL, clowns do that, mine always have. it helps to get more fish so they become less territorial. I had a gold bar that was a MENACE! he would attack me to no end and I swear one day i heard him say "put your hand in here, i dare you"

:gay1::gay1::gay1:I had a pair of gold bar maroons that did the same thing. the male was fine but the big female would take a little skin.:mad_3: They also thought that the tank was improperly decorated and dislodged anything they could. one day my giant green brittle star(20") eat the male. then the true temper of the female came out. So I traded her in for a pair of tank raised percs. has been well worth the trade. brittle was first to go after that.

I usually wear surgical gloves when working the tanks..the clowns bites don't hurt and they usually give up after a while.

I have two tank raised ocellaris along with 3 other fish and two cleaner shrimp, I've never gotten bit, everyone is really curious when I put my hand in the tank and the shrimp will jump on my hand to clean it any chance they get.

Fick it in the nose.... After one or two times, she'll never try it again. Fish bounce back like nothing happened, it's similar to when they open mouth bite each other to show each other they're the boss. I did it, no problems since.
