Another microbubble question (1 Viewer)

Ahhhhh, got it now. I didn't even notice that little guy up there.

From the top picture it also looks like a ball valve too. It would help to have a gate valve (if it is then nevermind) for the herbie.

Wouldn't moving the drain valve closer to the water level in the bucket help? Currently there's a lotta pipe below the valve which means the water is dropping into the bucket and causing bubbles. Move the valve down and add a filter sock.

Yes the valve on the return line is about a foot below the tank and there is 2 feet of pipe after that

Easiest, but mayby not the cheapest, fix would be to throw a valve on the end of that drain pipe. Yep, could be underwater. In small increments, start to close off the valve. It'll take some adjusting to get it right. Trick is to get the water to back up in the drain pipe until the drain pipe is almost completely full. Thus no bubbles from any falling water. -Adam

That sounds good. Just let me know and I'll be happy to help. It should be a relatively simple fix. :)

I fixed it! (with your help of course) your questions got me looking at it again and I noticed that the main drain was sucking bubbles down to the sump. I had the pipe too close to the teeth on the overflow and the secondary drain was too low. The secondary drain raised the water level so it wasn't so much of a waterfall and I cut the main drain down a bit and everything looks good now!

Thanks everyone for looking at my thread again!
