Hi Everyone!

My name is Andrew, I live in Minneapolis and work in ticketing. I had an awesome time at the recent expo, a lot of the stock below was purchased there!

My new tank has been up and running for a few months now, got back into the hobby after a few years. It’s going much smoother this time around.

First time was a 15 gallon with a small HOB filter and crappy light. I had moved around a bit so I decided to shut it down.

Cascade Pro Series 2 canister filter
Fluval AC30 (purely so I can have cycled media when I set up a quarantine)
2 Hygger power heads
2 AI Primes

UV Sterilizer

Awesome Andrew! Welcome to tcmas and welcome back to reefing nerd-dom . Your tank is looking fantastic. I’m glad you had a good time at the expo this year. Please let us know if we can help in any way. And if you’re up for it, think about throwing a meeting on the calendar. It’s super low key, but a great way to meet folks in the club face to face. They’re always a great time.

Yo Andrew! Welcome back to the salty side of life. It gets in your blood.

Thanks for introducing yourself, supporting TCMAS and coming to the Expo. We also love that you are sharing your experience with us. Definitely keep posting, asking any questions and sharing any insights. There are meetings lined up for the next few months, hope to see you at one of them. And as David said, consider hosting one yourself.

I will for sure be trying to make one of the meetings, about to get crazy busy this summer with the new Amp opening but I’ll keep my eyes peeled!


Update on the tank!

We have unfortunately lost our Bicolor Dottyback and I was able to catch the biggest devil damsel, reefco took him off my hands. He would attack anything new in the tank, huge PITA! The other two I couldn’t catch but they’re at least not as large, I’ll be attempting to catch them at some point again. They were a mistake

Besides that, I’ve added a few more SPS, my other seemed to be doing well, figured I’d give them a shot!
My first Monti as well as my first pipe coral!

I rescaped slightly and took out those branches.

Blue and Green are new, red I got as a fairly small frag, very happy with its growth in a newer system.

New Monti and Pipe Coral

Hammer rock, I need to relocate the small green one before the nem stings it.

Duncan’s are doing very meh. If anyone has any recs where they should be placed, please share!
