ArstenA's 6 Gallon Triangle (1 Viewer)

The nem has not moved yet... I actually think he is getting more light now than he was in my biocube (also LEDs).

The nem isn't as happy as it was in the biocube. It has gotten lighter pink and a little more stringy but isn't moving around the tank. It also opens and closes with the lights. So it could be adjusting to it's new surroundings.

Otherwise everything else seems very happy.

I will try to get some more pictures up.

I am glad everyone likes it, I sure do!

i love the tank! looks great. i wish i had a job that would allow me to have something like this. looking forword to seeing more like this

How did I miss this build thread? I LOVE following your threads. Keep up the good work! May I ask how you went about building a DIY skimmer? Might be an idea for my new 20g eventually...

Patent Pending :)

My diy skimmer is doing an amazing job on a 6 gallon tank but I would not trust it on anything bigger than 10. I also have to figure out a better way to catch the micro bubbles.

It is extremely small and I don't have a lot of room to modify it.

It does not use air stones.

Yeah it is! It took forever to settle down so I am just starting to introduce corals again. I need to get some photos.

Yes, absolutely get pics. That must be the talk of the office!! Do you bring water from home?

Here is a poor quality FTS

Added this week:
Red scooter blenny
Sand Sifting Starfish
two nassarius snails
two astrea snails

The tank has finally stabilized where coral is growing. I struggled for a very long time with this. I have been doing 2 gallon water changes every Monday since this was setup. The total water capacity is 6 gallons.

The tank is still running. Not the happiest for coral. Not sure why. I actually adjusted the LEDs today to see if it would have an impact.

Any new updates?

I am looking to start back into the hobby with a pico tank.

I like the idea but my work would never allow something like this!

Tank is a mess, I severely need to do a water change on it. It is quite green. :-(

I have been thinking about taking it down because I have been too busy at work.

curious as to why you would say this

Sand sifters feed off of detitrious, and generally require several inches of sandbed to thrive. Also ArstenA indicated that his feeding load was light, which in turn lessens the likelihood of waste build up for the star to then eat.

Sandsifter stars and gobies eat micro fauna which reside in the sndbed... they sift the sand looking for this fauna and in result the organic compounds are brought into the sand bed...
