Bad day starting (1 Viewer)

It seems there is still moisture in this controller. When I supply power to the fixture 1 channel of white comes on for 15-20 min then it seems to work correctly. I took that controller off and put it back in rice and used one of the other controllers and don't have the single channel of white at power up. 1 more day of running before I feel they are good to mount over tank again. I also redid my light rack so this theoretically can't happen again, no more cheap clips

I bet there is a salt trail in it. When the salt water dries it will leave behind a conductive film of salt. To get rid of it you have to open it up as much as possible, then clean or soak in RO water. Then dry completely. It seems counter-intuitive to fix water damage by getting it wet, but it is the ions in the water that cause the problems. Pure RO does not conduct electricity and can be used to remove the damaging salt.

I hosed them down when it happened guess since I'm putting the controller back in rice it won't hurt to give it a good soak first

Unfortunately the board does not willingly separate from the controller face which really leaves no way to spray the area that needs more cleaning(area between board and lcd faceplate or lcd only). So I gave it a very thorough soak/rinse in rodi water before placing it back into a container of rice to suck out the moisture that cannot be reached.
