Brent's 90 gallon corner overflow build! (1 Viewer)

I haven't put anything on the bottom as of now

I'm sorry, I looked at the wrong post. I meant LowersmyBP. Said he did PVC in a bare bottom. I'm curious if he just laid it in there or if he used silicone to seal the bottom after installing it.

Was able to get the radions installed and the apex gold set up, still need a wireless adapter and need a sump ASAP, does anyone use anything other than glass tanks for under the stand sumps? I'm thinking a 30 long will be the best glass tank for me but they are very hard to find aparently

What are the dimensions of a 30 long? Also what dimensions are you looking for? So people know if they have anything that might work for you

I guess it's just considered a 30 gallon tank. Which is 36/12/16 high The dimensions I can fit are anything smaller than 40/ 16 / 20 high

My plan is to run a 2 chamber sump first chamber will be my skimmer, heater, and an Ats my second will just be a small chamber that has my return pump in it

29 gallon should work for you then right? Might be easier to find and leave more room for other stuff.

That would work for me, I'll have to look into those, at least for the time being, I might upgrade to a custom made sump that houses an ATO in the future

It was great meeting you mike, hopefully I'll be able to get the sump all setup and running today

Got the sump installed and akimmer running, haven't had a chance to take a picture of the plumbing yet but I did have a question. My radions are linked together yet when it becomes nite mode one of them is purple while the other is blue, is this normal or how can I change this?

Should probably update this, over the last week I am positive that I am past any mini cycles so I started slowly adding some of my corals, as it is Xmas time and money tends to get cut from my fish budget around now I will most likely not be doing much to the tank for a bit,

Here are some pictures ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418858097.448721.jpg cord oranization will be key in the coming weeks it's driving me crazy already ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418858136.548828.jpg

Started to add corals ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418858159.348812.jpg

And now today

Also traded some rock for two anthias that were labeled as purple queens but I don't think they are, either way they eat great but if anyone has a correct Id of these please share otherwise I will just call them purple anthias ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418858541.611709.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1418858649.594551.jpg

This post wouldn't be complete without showing kacis tank as well so here is what is left that I didn't rob from it ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418859040.627887.jpg

Looking good! Can't wait to see that thing all filled up. Anthias look very nice whatever they are.

Rock scape looks great on both tanks.

Have you done bare bottom before?

Thanks me too, I'm hoping to get some decent sized Sps frags in the future and grow them into colonies to fill some of the dead space.

I have never done bare bottom before and it is giving me mixed feelings so far, I might eventually put sand in but for now I'm going to continue to try to stick it out, I just really hate being able to see every peice of waste on the bottom and am trying my best to resist the urge to pull it out as soon as I see it

Well that didn't last long but when people gave me gift cards to fish stores for Xmas I really didn't think I would be able to hold off for very long. I picked up a nice purple and green plate coral

And trying out my hand at editing since I'm not planning on selling this

and a pair of evansi anthias, which one wasn't doing well at the store because they couldn't get it to eat so they gave it to me as a two for 1 deal so i currently have it in an acclimation box trying to fatten it up on r.o.e. Any suggestions would be helpful it eats a few but not as much as I would like it to ImageUploadedByTapatalk1420219436.313725.jpg

And a few fts with the new cell phone camera

Nice looking plate coral!
Aren't gift cards great? I'm sitting on a few that I want to use towards my new build, but it's tempting to use them now.

Here's a trick I use for getting better pictures with my Radions.
I turn the spectrum to 13,000K.
The tank looks very stark and white, but the blue light is still easily picked up by the camera. This allows for less (if any) editing to the colors in post processing.
When I'm done taking the pictures, I just go back to my program schedule; just a couple of taps on my iPad.
