I didn't ask him about the spectrum but will guess it will cost a bit more to have them change if we wanted. If you want a different spectrum it's very easy to do yourself like I've mentioned. You can also request extra LED's to change out to your liking too. 2 year warranty also is what he quoted me.

I'll ask him now about the spectrum and how we can place the order for the group buy. Is everyone in agreement to have them shipped directly to each persons house or to have them shipped to one address and picked up from there?

Do you have a peliminary count of IT2040 and IT2080 so I can get them started?

Can you ask how much it would cost to get the layout that kheebl posted? I feel more comfortable using that one since it's been tested :p
Unless someone more savvy with LEDs says that this one is better.

That sounds good to me. I would have lights shipped directly to my house I think.
 
No additional charge for the custom layouts so when we have this all settled on who is ordering what we just need to send in our choice for the custom spectrum and he will take care of it! If we all agree on this spectrum I can send it to him now?

I was just doing some research online and I found a few threads where people said the value fixture can be controlled from a reefkeeper or apex, you just have to remove the manual dimmers and install a rj45 connector i guess. I wish i could find a how to because I would be all for doing that for half the cost. Has anyone seen a thread like that?

I haven't heard this before but it would be awesome if it can be done!! I have a value fixture I would be willing to use as the test bed for this but need to know the wire layout. I also don't have a ACL module for my RKL to do the testing with. Do you remember/have the link to the thread you read this on?!
 
Let me go look it up. If we can figure it out I would rather get the value fixture for $120 or whatever the cost is then buy a apex or reef keeper.
 
Ok. Instead of 4 IT2040, I'll take 2 IT2080s formy 210 and 1 IT2040 for my frag tank. So 3 instead of 4.
 
Do you think we should make a new thread that says something like Chinese LED group buy to maybe get more people who might have skipped over this thread?
 
Heh, If you can figure out how to do it, I'd just be buying the 2 value fixtures.
I'd then have around 300 to buy a reef angel :O LMK if you figure out how to do it general0 :p

I hope we can figure out how to do this mod. I could then get a controller and LED's for what I was planning on just spending on LED's!
 
I would need a ALC for my RKL to test this on. If I can find the thread for it and mod my light someone will have to volunteer their controller to test it on!
 
I'm sure someone in the area has one you could borrow. If I had one I would let you use it.
