Yep each ELOS system has a corresponding sump. The sump is designed specifically for the aquarium and cabinet. The systems also include a skimmer and auto top off that integrate well into the sump design, but don't necessarily commit you to using their stuff.

I added the Purple Queens on Friday so that I would be around to observe and feed often this weekend. The Powder Blue welcoming party, which happens with all new additions, kept them in hiding for the first day. The male Lyretail is also keeping them in check a little bit. Luckily they are out a lot more today and have continued to eat, but don't yet associate with the main group of anthias. Their color is great under reef lighting and they have a slight irredescence.

I also added a pair of Ruby Red Dragonets. They are small and spend a lot of time inside the rock but when they do venture out, their bold color makes up for it. This is the female:

Those Purple Queens look like a natural Glow-fish with their iridescent stripes.
I hope they fare well for you.

Nice choice on the dragonets. I love their bright colors.
Are they eating frozen as well? Or mostly hunting for pods?

They ate prawn eggs during their short quarantine but in the display they're on their own searching for pods. Luckily I think the leopard wrasse is too much of a fatty to get into a lot of the nooks, so there should still be a decent population for them.

Queens look great Chris!

Thanks! Three are doing great– one didn't take the transition from quarantine too well and isn't eating as much as she should. I fear that I might end up with a trio. We got a puppy recently and I've been home over lunch every day to let her out, so I've been able to feed the tank every 3-4 hours pretty much all day long. One of the often-cited reasons for failure with this species is that they don't eat often enough, so hopefully I'm covered.

The Apex paid for itself this morning. Was on my way out the door and noticed a warning beep coming from the cabinet and did a quick check to find one of the heaters had stopped working around 11:00 last night. We use a Nest thermostat for the house which keeps the furnace to a minimum while we're at work during the day and I think I would have come home to a pretty cold reef.

Threw a different heater in the sump, plugged it into the appropriate plug on the Energy Bar and back in business. Watching the temp stabilize from work.

Apex to the rescue. Have you set up any alerts thru fusion yet? Might have to set it up so it alerts each other haha

Awesome fotos and love the female queens. Which extender are you using?

Tank update.

A lot of my Acropora has shown more growth this month than the last six months. I'm not sure if it's a change I made or if it was just time. I switched the outside Radions to 120º optics; not so much for coverage but to eliminate hot spots on the coral directly underneath.

Some red bugs snuck through my dips, and I've watched them move from a single coral to quite a few others, but they don't really seem to have any negative effect that I can observe. In fact, some of the recent growth I've seen has been on pieces with the bugs. In any event, the treatment sounds pretty straightforward and effective. I got ahold of some Interceptor and just need to capture a few crustaceans for isolation. As far as pests go, they're not too bad. The worst part is that I can't swap frags.

Here is a photo of some bugs:

I've also added to the mess of anthias with a trio of P. pulcherrimus which adds a nice red/violet to the group. The morphology of this species is a little different from the long, slender look of other pseudanthias and is sort of "stubby". Tough and social anthias, but sticks a little closer to the rock work. Here are the two females:

A trio of P. flavoguttatus was also added. This species seems surprisingly hardy for a deepwater anthias and was scrappy after the first 24 hours. A few reports have noted that after a time these will "go chromis" and you'll end up with one, but I haven't seen any aggression yet.

Carberryi semi-male display:

The king still tries to keep everyone in check, but I think it's a little too much work at this point.

The anthias group now consists of 19 individuals.

3x Pseudanthias squamipinnis
1x Pseudanthias bartlettorum
3x Pseudanthias carberryi
3x Pseudanthias ignitus
3x Pseudanthias tuka
3x Pseudanthias pulcherrimus
3x Pseudanthias flavoguttatus

I've never been an Anthia fan but you may make me reconsider taking a look at them when i'm stocking my next tank..

As for the red bugs, its probably one of the easier pests i've once eradicated. Interceptor works like a charm!

Jealous of all of your anthias. That Aurora Trio is still available. ;)
But I was hoping to see a peek of the Mimic Blenny.

Sorry to hear about the red bugs but the interceptors will take care of it.

Did I miss the FTS of all the anthias in the setup?

Oh yeah, great fotos again!

I hope it's as quick and easy as people say. By the way, I still have your original Vivid's Rainbow Delight, PC Rainbow, and Rommel's Watermelon for when you decide to come back.

I think I'm going to wait until the Auroras go on sale :) The Mimic Blenny is really doing a number on SPS. It's just a battle of wits now trying to find a way to catch him. Such a great fish otherwise, but he is driving me crazy. You can see him a little in the video.

I don't have a recent FTS, but I grabbed a quick video when I fed during lunch today. Based on some advice from Flounder, I've been feeding Sustainable Aquatics Hatchery Diet pellets once daily to retain color.
