Chris, could you post some side-by-sides photos? one normal and one using the new technique of the same colony?

Here's a nasuta around mid-day, and with fluorescent color only. Polyp extension is longer because I'm taking photos after the lights go out so no natural light sneaks in. Most corals have green fluorescence, but there are a lot of other subtle colors which are harder to capture.

Some green acropora show a little yellowing under intense light. This is about 10" under the fixture.

One of my favorites, and the only acropora in my tank that shows any true orange fluorescence.

This tank is definitely something to see in person, a super clean and well organized system! A gorgeous tank Chris, full of gorgeous corals!

Thanks, great to meet you the other day!

Some updates:

There's good and bad news on the pest front. The berghia nudibranchs have been very effective and completely taken care of every visible anemone on the right rock structure. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that they have migrated across the sand bed to the other side, as there are still quite a few there. At least I know they were effective..

My next target is bubble algae, which has been in the tank for well over a year in small amounts, but has started getting a little out of control. I added a pair of emerald crabs to see if they'll make a dent and I might temporarily add a foxface to reset the clock. This stuff has done fine even through my overly low-nutrient phase, so I don't consider it to be a symptom of a nutrient problem.

The system overall is in maintenance mode; haven't been any big fish or coral changes in awhile, mostly because there isn't any space on the rock work. If you see any, please let me know ;)

Spectacular pic!!!
But couldn't you get the Candy Basslet to pose front and center?

My foxface devours the bubble algae.
If you try one and it doesn't help, you could always bring your rocks to my place! :biglaugh2:
And I also have a solution for opening up more real estate... ;)

When I was setting up the tripod for that photo he was cruising around a little, but he doesn't exactly shoal with the anthias. Maybe I need more anthias? :jester:

Very contemporary and inspiring tank indeed! congratulations!
I am in line to purchase your next month acro frag offering

Tank looks great. It was nice to meet you at the New Wave Aquaria meeting last week. I have always admired your tank through this build thread. It was nice to put a face with a tank.

Wow is all I can say! I've gone over your entire post and wow! the attention to detail and your success with corals and fish is second to none! it's one thing to have an elos system what you've done to it just brought to the next level!

looking forward to more update!

Thanks! Good to meet you, Adam. I'm waiting for some pics of your new anthias, I've looked at every one on the internet.

Thanks and welcome to TCMAS. I recognize your name from the R2R build; you have a great tank and some nice colonies!
