Looking for good suggestions for an on-line clean up crew source (or even places to avoid). My main objective is battling green hair algae.

I got some snails from Saltwater Aquarium because they keep them in a fallow system to prevent carrying stuff like ich trophants.

i love Mexican turbo snails for shredding hair algae, but they don’t live super long as they are from cooler waters than our reefs.

I've heard good things about ReefCleaners.

If you want truly quarantined invertebrates that are guaranteed to not have fish disease (no idea about coral or invert disease), I believe the only source right now is Inverted Reef.

Be very careful with reefcleaners. I don't think he realizes how cold it can get here, and how and extra day of shipping in florida temps is ok, but up here changes everything. I had a $150 order that was a day late in subzero temps and most didn't make it. Contacted him, after ordering many times before and was told it was my fault and I was trying to scam him. I didn't argue, but swore I would let everyone know my experience.

Man that stinks! Thanks for letting us know. Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I’ve personally never used them, but I know others here have. I wonder if this is always the case or if this is a change in their customer service.

Like I said, EASILY 10+ orders before this one, never an issue and great stuff. It's been about a year since this happened, hopefully they figured their stuff out. USPS is cheap, but when going across country, I don't think it's the best. They do have overnight shipping, at a cost that was more than what I ordered. I even offered to email a fedex overnight shipping label and have it picked up from them, because of temps, and was turned down. I'd try to order again, but he's got my account locked and must have my address also since I cannot place an order shipping to my home.... I mean it's their business to do what they want, but seems pretty petty.

Chad Vossen is a great source for clean up crew in town. No one locally should have to deal with ordering any online.

Agreed Nox! That's where I'm getting everything from now.

GHA can be a pain. And definitely loading up on herbivores helps. But don’t forget that YOU are the most effective CUC. Get in there and rip it out, scrub rock and siphon on a water change. Get it down to a level that the nibblers and grinders will get after it.

The local LFSs seem to have all the usual suspects for a good CUC. May not be a need to order. I have had good experiences with Reef Cleaners though, John does a good job covering losses if you communicate.

I try to grab some snails, hermits and/or urchins from a number of shops when I get to the Metro. Several of them ship, and at least one will arrange delivery. A couple are even sponsors of our forum.🤙🏽👌🏾💪🏽🐠🪸
