Clicking noise in sump (1 Viewer)

When I was over last, you had LOADS of pods in your sump and if its a shrimp, it will "click" to stun/kill the pods and then eat them (a pistol shrimp will snap their claw at such a speed that it creates a very fast, hot and small bubble that will stun other living things). They also snap if they feel threatened, so if your lucky enough to get in their way, it feels like someone snapping a rubberband against your skin).

It could also be a crab or snail hitting their shell against the glass.

I had mantis once. The clicking drove me nuts. I did finally find him. Ended up throwing him in the garbage disposal. I figured it was a quick way to euthenize him.

There almost certainly would have been people in the club who would have loved to have taken this shrimp off your hands (me for example).

Do you have a controller? Often two of the plugs have relays in them. If your heater is plugged into one of these it could be the heater turning on and off.

I think the noise was my thermometer hitting against the side of the sump, it seems like the movement of me walking over stopped it from hitting as much.
