so we found a led fixture with incredable spread and intensity and we have decided thats the route we want to go. Retro afew t5s into the canopy and our lighting is set..... Very happy to have that solved...... Back to the skimmer debate

for me it all depends on how much sps is truely going into the tank as well as how nps crazy we go

I would do the BK, because you may start out with softies, but who knows what you'll be into in the future. Better to buy the best skimmer possible for your situation, so you don't have to upgrade in the future, and spend twice the cash.

Skimmer debate - go Volcano if you can find one for your tank. I know they are hard to find but when doing research - thats the one I wanted - has many benefits (which I am sure you already know):biggthumpup:

Edit - FWIW - I run a smaller 7 watt UV on my tank after much research - and so far (knock on wood) I have NEVER had any fish disease in my tank.

ryan- id love to see a system this size run full blown zeovit..... I have to draw the line somewhere. Im already afraid our sps stocklist may be pushing it

ohhhh and if anyone is currious the leds we are going to purchase are the 90w units peggy is selling at all reef..... I have been visiting there regularly and all of her corals 24-30 inches below the units look amazing. With the t5 supplementation im positive there will be enough light

I've done the same thing. I've drawn it all out. But I've done top, front, and side views even of my small 30 gallon!

weve also decided to add 2 tunzes with a contoller and will place them on the bottom of the overflow rather than have returns drilled in a centerbrace. That eliminates the centerbrace and 2 more returns which would block some of t5s inbetween the led pannels in the center of the tank
