That is beautiful, would be awesome if it holds it's color. Now if it was dyed, how exactly is that done? Injecting color or just dipping it?

Well because the frills are orange, I'm praying the coral isn't dyed. You think the frills would be affected if it were dyed.

damn this thread, i'll end up with a sun coral tank plumbed into my brookstock system for sure if these pictures keep coming.

I saw it on Wednesday and it still looked that bright. I also saw a pic of a pink one in my books on corals by JEN Veron so they must exist in nature.

To give props to Jake, it was he who originally brought it up, its not like he was trying to scam anyone.

they do exist in nature on a very very very rare occasion. if jake's is indeed a true one, then he's got he hands on a very rare morph.... but time will tell. hope it's real.

+1 on this. Dying typically isn't something that effects only part of the coral. Have you been feeding it? If you (or someone) frags it, I'd buy one. Me likey NPS...

So far it appears to be holding it's pink well, but I still think that we are several months away from knowing.

I did split this piece with another club member and his piece has new growth that orange, whereas where mine healed it's pink.

This coral does feed and is very easy to feed. It comes out in anticipation of food.

Someone said the coral was real, but Jake was dyed? Can this be?

I was wrong, the new growth was areas under the sand that was slightly miscolored, when I put it in a new position they appear pink again. This is mine a week ago...

so the verdict is that it's non-dyed, then? AWESOME! Treat it well! I'd love a frag of this when I finally get around to setting up a NPS tank...
