Well, this is isn't really a walk through, but I've been looking for a way to fill in the wasted space along side my tank, as well as have a place for a larger ATO reservoir, amongst other things.

One of my fellow TCMAS "Cream Team" bowling partners offered up his assistance (and entire Saturday) to help me out!!! Ted, AKA "Mnmuskyman2011," and I spent most of today building my new stand extensions.

I know a couple things, but woodwork is certainly one of my weak points, so I was STOKED to get the offer of assistance.

Ted assured me that we would be able to build what I was looking for, so I spent the last few days doing measurements, asking questions, and bugging the heck out of him about this thing. :D

Well, after only one trip to Menards (plus a bonus trip when plans changed slightly) and a lot of measuring and cutting, the stand extensions are completed! Only thing left is to paint them.

I brought them home a few hours ago and they fit perfect!!!! Thanks a ton, Ted!!!!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that we also built matching doors for my stand as well, to match!! (no pics though...)

Looks awesome! I may be asking for advice down the road to do the same thing.. post a pic when it's completely done!

They look awesome! I'm so glad they fit. I am not a carpenter by any means but I am learning. Thanks for letting me help out.

Just got done painting these things. When I get home later tonight, I'll put up pictures.

Thanks for the kind words everybody! I knew exactly what I wanted to see happen, but Ted helped make it happen.

With regards to the new tanks, I told Ted that I need to find an 18x24 footprint tank now. :)

Here's the setup, painted. I have not put the matching doors on the stand yet, but they're ready to go and will be on tomorrow!

Ok this is seriously making me jealous, you guys killed it here. Can I bribe you to hook a brother up with some help down the road? The wife and I were talking about this exact project idea a few minutes ago.

They look awesome! The only problem I see is that you need a bigger tank!

I know, right? I shot this with a super wide angle lens as well, but it makes the 90 look small in the picture.

In real life, it looks like a great fit.

I'll have to stop by sometime and check it out. A 300 gallon tank would look awesome there.
