Well;
That was about the most god awful experience of my 4 year reefing career. Lost almost everything with the exception of my anemone and some softies so far. Except for running carbon, I followed the directions to a T.
I guess I finish the treatment and get to rebuilding. I hope Zack still has his corals because that's where most of mine came from.

Sorry to hear that; One good reason I am wary of magic cures (or unrelated, when someone tells you to get a vaccine as a prevention)

I did the math once. it's about 4000 bucks a gallon. I once treated a 500 gallon established softy tank. it is 90% zoanithids. Very nice, HUGE colonies. Client bought a frag of zoo's online and a zoa eating nudi or two got in.
One bottle treats 500 gallons I think it is. But to kill zoa eating nudi's you have to use 4X that amount.
We went through a case at 25 bucks a bottle. over the month we treated the tank.
he now dips and QT's ALL incoming corals
We did save 95% of the zoanthid colonies though. I really wish he'd let me get some frags out of it.
The carbon is one of the most important parts. It removed the flatworm toxin from the water as the buggers die and decompose.
Sorry you had a bad experience, but don't blame the product. I rarely hear of anyone who has a bad outcome unless they don't do what the direction suggest.

Don't think I blamed the product at all. Search the internet, you'll find plenty of bad experiences noted (even following the directions completely), also plenty of good ones. I've now had both. Kind of the way life goes sometimes. Bad things can happen even in good situations and vice versa.

I once had a plague of these in a 10 gal nano that i ran for about 2 yrs. It finally irritated me so much I used FWE. Hearing the horror stories i basically "dipped" the whole tank. I made a supper concentrated solution in a 5 gal bucket, then proceed to dip the tank a piece at a time. That water was really really gross, full of flat worm when I was done! Really really really nasty looking water! I almost didn't dip the last few peices cause it looked so bad. Then I dosed the correct amount to the tank twice over the next two weeks. Never saw them again. Doesn't help for a big tank. I could see how if all those nasty guys were in a tank it would create problems. Hope that is insightful to people:beerchug:
