Fritz's Home Display - Tank Build (1 Viewer)

I personally love the XM 10k look, but I didn't think it'd be nearly blue enough for you... either way, it looks like it's going to be sweet. I bet the xm w/4x actinic supplements would be banging.

IMO for fish choices you could choose some 'staples' that are gorgeous but common if you're going for the "attainable" look to your tank. I think a lot of reefers get into the more rare fish simply because they aren't so common... not that I don't LOVE mystery wrasses and the like, but it's also neat sometimes to see regular clowns, red firefish, royal gramma, canary wrasse etc. in a well put together tank. also, put in a kupang damsel--they're next to no bioload and add a lot to a tank.

XM puts out a lot of par, i have XM 10KK with 4 blue+, still have a yellow tint to it, next time i will put in 14K ushio, it should be the righr K for my eyes.
i think 14K with actinic will be looks close to radium.

also it's illegal to own mermaids in minnesota. :gay1::gay1::gay1:

Fritz, think you can post your par numbers? I had an XM10k run by icecap 250, super white but sweet growth. Not sure how the 4 xt5's would interact with the xm10k, knowing you, still might not be blue enough:biggrin: Love the 20k radium powered by 400w HQI. According to Sanjay the par numbers were similiar?

Ya I guess my main point is I am now comfortable with the decision of a mini 4 t5s, SLS HQI ballast, because I know if the Radium doesn't do what I want I can get the PAR out of an XM10k... or many options in between. I was really floundering on the 250W or 400W for the MH part.

I will try 4 B+ with the Radium just to see how blue I can go :)

Missed this...

Not sure if he supplements his with T5's. I'll try to find out - or if anyone else knows...I'm sure Li knows ;)

Have you decided if this is going to be an SPS only tank? We need more of those around here.

Yep 90-100% SPS... I've got a aqua-blue-green... hydronophora(spelling?) and some meteor shower I want to try and get passed the angels. Some one brought in a wicked piece of frogspawn... I am very tempted to take about 5" of that (man I got to find a way to remember people's names better). I plan on putting some gsp on Li's special frag rocks on the bottom for some movement. Mostly ORA SPS from there. :) I am still tempted to take one of the large Nepthia colonies home too.... but I probably wont :( Perhaps a Biocube is in order :)

Well good thing about a virus wiping out my computer at work... I am not stuck to the computer.

Scott and I got busy on the rockwork!

Casey got some shots!

The lines are for the different cube sizes.

The outside line is 24". My cube is 30" So there is still room to get my hand in for cleaning.
The tape line is the over flow box.
