Fritz's Home Display - Tank Build (1 Viewer)

Yep, it takes a few coats to get good coverage. The first it just to give it something to stick to...

I got 4 coats in and it looked pretty nice... pulled off the painters tape too soon and brought a whole load of latex paint with it.... perhaps latex paint was the wrong stuf... sigh.... I'm still putting on more touch up coats...

Bump x2. Fritz, this is gonna be a nice tank. Guess its worth waiting for. Chads work is basically, well, incredible based on his build thread.

The regal looks sweet in those pics. Are you worried about losing PE at all?

PE... ya, not really. It could be an issue I guess, but I am up for something different. I normally play it safe to the point of being boring. The more bold he/she gets, the more I fall in love with it.

Unfortunately, I can't get most of the pictures I took... they are stuck on my stupid cellphone that needs some big beefy USB cord...grrrr. But I took a few on my click click camera. The stand isn't quite done, but here is a close before and after... and the beginning of plumbing.

Made a new sump today. This system is so tight it is scary. To use the Vertex Cone 200 we had to make the skimmer side of the sump much bigger. When we did the calculations, we didn't have enough room to hold the extra water in the case of an emergency. So, I cut down the baffle from the recommended level (8") to 6.5". If the 200 doesn't work I will use the Octopus cone I have waiting for the frag system, which is recommended at 6.5" water level. If that all doesn't work, I will suck it up and have Bob build me a sump.

Little plumbing teaser.

Well that's it till I find the proprietary cord for my cell phone.

Chad said the wood is actually maple. I probably fixated on the word mahogany or the tag was wrong when I bought the table. Chad did/is doing all the wood work, but he outsourced the staining. Hopefully he will get a chance to chime in on here. The work is just insane beautiful, and the stain matches our table perfectly. Even Rain was ecstatic.... and rain being excited about something is like Li not having an opinion! ;)
