Fritz's Home Display - Tank Build (1 Viewer)

our initial tests found the 250 would be enough, especially with 4 t-5s (original plan, didn't work out). I have the PAR meter at home today... but we didn't get to testing. Casey and I have been putting some painfully slow touches on the Wall of fun. The good news is it is ready for a water test run. :)

Anyhow, I haven't ruled out a 400W or a 250 14k or anything. I love the look of radiums though and have high hopes the 250 on an IC will be good enough... ok dreams not hopes. ;)

Took the afternoon up to catch up with Li. Of course we can't keep our hands out of the tanks. We did some quick numbers. The bad news is I don't think the PAR is quite where I want it. The good news is it is at the low end of acceptable. So If I can't find another look I like (using radium right now), I know the corals will survive under this light. I am going to try a 14K in there as well and see if I can suffer the yellow ;)

I decided on 2 blue plus. for the T-5s. I wish there was room for more!

Some snails and emerald crabs too..:gay1:

I am having Bob custom a sump for me. That should come out this week.
The other issue I am having is Router-->bridge-->Controller--> MP40s (I went with two MP40s).
The wife convinced me to go with a cheaper bridge than I am using on the other system... bad choice. I can't hold a constiant IP and I can't get the updated drivers into the MP40s... its driving me nuts. Li has been helping but we are still stuck at that and I don't have much patience to learn how to do computer stuff.

Anyhow I am still making a long trip to Orlando. and nothing gets moved in till I get back.

Fritzer,
Have you got anything in your Home tank yet that you showed me last month? I'm digging that copperband you got, you think he is gonna munch any SPS at all?

Upgraded the sump. Bob built it.. duh ;) Not to drop any hints... but Bob was very impressed with my set up... if you know what I mean ;) ;) ;)

That's quite a sump design, I think it looks really interesting. I love how you used the vertical space for extra water/rock volume being that it's a cube. I'm not sure I quite understand it all, though. Extra points for the double herbie which I presume is going on there. :)

That is a perfect sump set-up! Very impressive. Great use of space. I have a sump fetish, so I find myself paying closer attention to sump pics than displays. Go figure.

Yet you prefer to skim wet though? I am surprised. Makes me wonder what other assumptions I have made about you over the years will prove incorrect ;)

Bunch a critics!

I'm very happy with this set up. I had made it for the Octopus BB cones... but we just squeezed in the Vertex we had sitting around. Yep, the tank has a herbie and so does the live rock cryptic fuge. The unused gate aimed at our faces is to choke back water for a BRS reactor, or whatever else I may want to feed.

Your sump is awesome fritz. Perfect design. Nothing wrong with taking your time! -you've already got your frags/colonies growing anyway-whats the hurry? Its gonna be done right. I have to admit I'm having a hard time waiting to see it all done though:biggthumpup:

Is there gonna be a gsp skull in the new display?

Tester coral doing well after ... ugh forgot. lets call it a week. Hair algae is just starting to slow down with the addition of some prodibio. I just took home some more snails today. I'm thinking of trying some of the Vertex pellets in a brs reactor. Ah, a new tank :beerchug:

Having a hard time getting a shot from the other room... its really sweet playing pool though :beerchug:
