I got this little guy in a shipment of frags. He's blue and had a hard shell, I thought it was a limpet at first but then it stuck it's 2..4..6 antenna out and started cruising around the bowl. Should I keep it or is it bad?

Thanks for your help.

I had something like this once.... it was black, soft, 1/2", and had a white line on its back. I kept it and named it Dash. It dissapeared for three months and came back three inches long by 1.5 in. wide. It never cossed any harm. I took the tank down and a LFS decided to take it.

Anyone know what it was?

They have a long, narrow shell on their back. Many times the shell is completly covered by the mantel or other times just a small strip of it is visable. That would be the "white line". One of mine is now around 3 1/2" long. They are nocturnal.

Thanks :)

Are these good? Can I buy another one for my new tank? Is this it? Its shell looks different.

What about the lettuce slug?

That's what we are guessing it is from your photo but its a little hard to tell. Lettuce slugs are cool too, I have several in my tank. To keep them you have to have algae for them to eat. The black slug isn't really a slug, its a snail and gets by on almost nothing. The lettuce slug is a different beast. It doesnt have a shell and is more finicky about its food.
