OK. i just bought a Prizm skimmer and it just came in today. i hook it up and plug it in. as water gets to the second chamber it started to make a loud noise. not sure what's going on. need a little help. it sounds like this one.

Some skimmer need to draw water to the overflow box. If you place your finger over the airline, it will draw water and when that started you can let go of the airline.

Is there water running through it? Is the pump creating bubbles?

It also could be the airline tube making a slurping noise.

yea, i just looked at it and when i cover the airline it doesnt make the sound anymore but as i remove my finger it make the sound again.

the pump does make bubbles when i don't cover the airline but if i do then it doesn't and when it doesn't i get micro bubble in my tank.

google the make and type of skimmer and look at videos on youtube. theres videos for everything

I have the same skimmer. I definitely sounds like the pump is either loose or not getting enough water.

make sure the intake tube is all the way in the skimmer it should have to twist into the pump.. Also make sure there is enough water in the body of the skimmer to get it going. then plug the air intake until water is freely moving through the skimmer.
