Hi all, been wandering the forums and love it. I went to swe this Saturday for the girl scout event, first time to swe and it was awesome. I have a question.
I am running a new 14g bc and was wondering about adding power heads, more flow. i had a power head with 165gph and it blew all the sand all over, and blew over some corals i have. I am wondering if any one has some suggestions. and thanks for the site, it is great

Try maybe a Koralia Nano powerhead, not sure on the GPH but its a pretty small powerhead. Also, if that is too much, you might want to try swapping the return pump in the back of your BioCube to something with a little more UMPH!

Here is a thread, thanks to Google and TCMAS! http://www.tcmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23268

For more info just try the search bar, or google "Biocube 14 Pump Upgrade", or something along those lines. I'm sure you'll fine what you need.

Also, Welcome to TCMAS :clown:

+1 Regarding the koralia nano. I have one of those and I love it. I used it in my 10 gallon when I had it set up.

welcome to TCMAS, just two questions. 1. Don't touch my percocets and 2. do you have any percocets?

Welcome. Have you tried pointing the powerhead along the top of the tank vs. down? It will still pull the water upwards but not disturb the sand as much.

I have a koralia 1 and a hydor pico pump with a hydor flo and the return pump has a hydor flo in my biocube 14. Sounds like a lot but the corals are very happy.

welcome to the hobby buddy. Koralia nano alll the way

Yea thats how i have it set up, seems that the water rushes foward and then down the glass and to the back of the tank.

Welcome! You'll have to check out Discovery Aquatics as well, located in Fridley. Should be a bit closer drive for you.

I have a Koralia Nano I'd let go for cheap, or a Koralia 2 if you want something a little bigger.

Hello and welcome. I agree you should do fine with a Koralia Nano just try different angles or short it behind the rock.
