So last night, after the last customer left I was looking around the store thinking.. ok.. it's small.. but there has to be a way to make the store look bigger and perhaps get some more stuff in it...

I think I manged it. My desk will get smaller and I now have room for a wall of shelfs or a couple of frag tanks (leaning towards frag tanks.. maybe a 8ft one?)

By moving the 8ft tanks to the wall I added the 3ft behind it to the open space in the store :)

who'd have thunk I could get more gallons of water than square feet in here. Sitting at 750 gallons of salt water and about 80 fresh (RO water)

What's keeping those cabinets around? Ditch them (keep the sink and the fridge) and you got all kinds of wall (not windowed wall) space. Maybe create yourself a little 'bar area' back over where Jake had the desk set up to hide stuff behind and serve as your counter? Of course, I can't tell what you have there at the moment, but I know it's windows, so it's hard to put a tank or shelves there...

I was going to say the same thing. Remove the cabinets or take the doors off and put some product in there.

Hey Clint, great job! It looks alot more open and inviting. I like the idea of taking the doors off some of the cabinets so you can use the space for dry goods. I think all your hard work will pay off.:beerchug:

Cabinets can't be taken down or have the doors removed.

I have some other options I am exploring.

I agree to ditch the "kitchen" and put in some sweet frag realestate! Why can't the cabinets be removed?

in the lease. Can't paint or change anything.

I did setup that frag tank that was sitting on it's side at the end of my desk though :)

One possibility that I think would be nice is to move the shop closer to hwy 65. Possibly one of the vacancies near the Subway & discount tire on central, just a tad north of hwy 10 & central intersection.

Moving is on my radar.. Not that far east though. Most of my customers come from the area around the store and west of there. So if I move in any direction it would be west.

Money wise I am not sure a move is a wise thing to do. Although I am considering it. No matter where I move the rent is going to be more. I have to decide if more space will = more sales. I still have to pay off the loan for the store and would really risk making the due date with higher expenses if it did not mean more sales.

The places I am considering are 1300+ sq ft and on busy roads where you don't need my latitude/longitude to find the place ;)

One place low on the list is off old 10 and central. it's low because of a few things. #1 it's 3500 square feet, #2 it's in poor shape #4 it's hard to see from the highway #4 although the rent is cheap, the heat bill would not be.

The other spots are near the store, or west of it.
