Is anyone running any of the Jebao RW series? General impressions? Issues? I have read a bunch of threads on the WP series but not a lot on the RWs that came out this year.

Thanks,
Chris

I've been running an RW4 in my. Io cube for probably 6 months or so. The other day it stopped. It's running but the impeller doesn't spin. Even after a good cleaning. Maybe a new impeller will fix it, but still disappointing.

I'm running two RW15's in my 120 and they are good so far. Been running almost as long as the 4.

I've been running an RW8 in my 125g for about 2 mos. no issues to report. I love the wave mode, reaches the other side of a 6' tank. Had to turn it down as to not get a splash on the other end.

Quiter than the wp version and more wide flow. Like how the light sensor is now part of the controller.

I've had the RW-8's on a 90 gallon since June. It's a good amount of flow. The "feed" button doesn't always work like it's supposed to. It occasionally forgets to turn back on. I unplug it and plug it back in and it resets just fine. I can't say I've had a ton of luck with the night mode either. Otherwise, I don't have any complaints. Especially for the price.

Any updated impressions on these RW pumps? Expecially the RW-4.

I have a WP-40 on my 75 but think I could get a better result with two RW-4s.

I am on my second WP-40. First lasted 1 year, second is lasting longer than a year so far.

Just like ArstenA, I have a WP-40 on my 75 for a few months now, already broke the turning knob, and everytime i connect the plug into the controller i see a little spark (kind of scary). Can't speak for the RW series, but for the WP-40 its alright, not bad for 50 bucks... I'd recommend as last option, definitely better than a koralia powerhead...

I ran a pair of rw15 on my 120 for almost a year with no problems, they are currently on my 180 while waiting for gyre replacement parts to come. I run a pair of rw8 on my 75, and was running a pair of rw4 on my 45 cube for almost a year, tore down tank and sold rw4's. I haven't had any problems/failures with them yet, the only issue i ran into was rw8's on 75 and rw15's on 180 were too close together and signals crossing from one tank to the other so the 180 will get the gyres again now that parts finally came.

But to be fair, they don't cost 300-500$ each like the higher end ones that I would hope have better life although I have had to get replacement parts for a gyre already and those have only been available for about a year.

The RW-8 is basically the same flow as a WP-40, and I feel like the 1 on my 75 is too much flow from one spot, so that is why I thought two RW-4s, one on each end might be better.

Nzac, are two RW-8s on a 75 insane?

I have them running at 40%, if I turn them up much more corals don't like it sand blows around. I just prefer to have more power than needed so if they slow over time I can adjust. Rw4 might work but I'd be worried it may not be enough, they are pretty small.

You are welcome to stop by and see if you'd like any evening.

I've ran a RW15 and a RW20 in my 120 the last 9 months and have been very happy with them. Only problem I've had is when I networked them, the master/slave control didn't always work correctly, but that could have been related connecting two different sizes.
