Wow! Glad you were home to be able to switch them out, that does seem strange that they would both go out the same weekend, have you found the cause of them quitting at all?

Is it possible to get an update and new pics of the pintail fairy wrasse?

I think your tank missed you and wanted extra attention? : ) Sorry - couldn't help it. How is all now?

I will post an update tomorrow everything is fine nothing amazing just on cruise control.

Chad took a nice video today , things look pale but in person the color is actually really good, growth is taking off , a couple of items are not doing so well the usual mix of frustration and satisfaction.I will add some stills this weekend.

Does that monitor your flow or are you able to control the flow? I see the high and low on the right top just wondering if you set those perimeters or that is just what your pump is kicking out

Love the video. I can't tell what type of fish most of yours are. That is to say, individually, many of them have never caught my eye enough to investigate further. But together, in large numbers, they are absolutely awesome. I keep telling people about a tank I heard about once, don't know if it is true, 180 damsels in 180 gallons. I think it would be awesome. I also think you may have achieved the same look. Just awesome.

"For my next build" maybe I will "grow up" and remember that you don't need "big fish" to have a large impact from the fish.

Nicely done, looks great.

The unit just monitors flow, its good to know whats happening with flow and what plumbing changes effect flow and how.

That is really cool. I can't wait until this sort of thing works with a controller so we have a way to know if pumps are actually working.

Your tank is doing great!
The joculators look like they're having fun. And I still am envious of the pintail fairy wrasse!

Hey Marty!!!
Apparently the trick to keeping a large tank with numerous fish with corals is to leave for weeks at a time. Stop tinkering!

Looks amazing, you are definitely winning the no hands in the tank award this year.

Migrated to Red Sea Colrs and energy program this week set it all up with a Kore 5th doser with "Drop Dose" for the colors and a mini fridge and the Libra stepper motor doser for the energy components.

We'll have to compare results after some time dosing these additives.

I'm getting close to having to buy refills of some of the color supplements and the test kits and before I do, I thought I'd get your thoughts on your results to compare with my own.

Lately, my thoughts gone in two different directions.
I may not need to be dosing the Colors Program supplements; at least not all of them. I have always had good coloration from most of my corals, but I still have trouble getting the bright red out of my plating montiporas that I used to get when using T5 lighting. I know that I have always had good results when dosing Iodine and Strontium, so I plan on continuing to dose those elements.
Another voice in my head says to keep dosing all of the supplements as I have the equipment and the bottles don't cost that much; and a change to the system may yield bad results. And if I keep dosing, should I change to the Red Sea Foundation Program for my Ca/Alk/MG dosing? I'm have been using the BRS supplements for years and I don't have any issues with those, so why change?

And what are your feelings on using the Reef Energy supplements?
Worth it or not?
I've started dosing the TLF AcroPower (no refrigeration) to add the amino acids/proteins to my reef but (again) is it worth it?

Thanks.
And I still need to see that pintail fairy wrasse!

I stopped using the supplements and now do not dose anything , Chad comes by and checks the tank every week and thats about it the tank has been running on autopilot for months now with little no interaction besides a weekly water change. I will get chad to post some pics some time some winners and losers, the tank looks okay .

I know this has beed said many times before by other people but I think a weekly 10-20% water change trumps most supplements.
