I Thought you were going to do MH LED combo... I been looking on line trying to keep up with the Jones. Did I hear you wrong? Info preez :)

My tank is a mess right now, algae growth and a terrible Ich outbreak are testing my resolve. Corals are growing well under the Halide/LED Reefbrite setup.

Lost a few fish this weekend and more to come in the next few days especially as I am away and things will have run their course.

Chaeto reactor is not working how I thought it would and finding the balance is a new challenge right now.

Finally, I did a Triton test, and I had toxic levels of tin. Many water changes later I am hoping things are back on track on that front.

I also just do not have time for the tank these days which never has a good outcome.

 NO!!!
So sorry to hear, Jon. I would say that I hope you don't lose any of your most prized fish, but that would include all of them. I do hope you can recover quickly and keep your losses to a bare minimum.

what he said!

Alright I'll leave you alone till your ready. Finn, is getting a smaller tank once his display gets picked up and we are looking at lighting... so we have been geeking out. I'm generally excited about LED MH and LED T5 combos.

Tried it and spoke to them it does not pull out tin

Thanks for the offers of help I just need to ride this thing through, Fritz here are some pics of the new lights installed, I like them dimming the halides is cool as you dim the Kelvin goes up so the go from 20K to 14K and back down to 20K from sunrise to sunset. The dual bulb design is great as it allows for a whole year on the bulb before replacement a different element fires each day which also allows fo a change in the hot spot location each day. Coral growth and color are off the charts.

And those bulbs don't seem to mess with your camera. Bonus!!!

The red coloration in your Flame Wrasse really pops and the whites in your butterflyfishes is nice and bright.
How long has the purple staghorn coral been growing the new clusters? Or is this a sample of the new growth explosion from changing the lighting?

The new splits are since the lights the green slimer is staged to explode when I look at those tips.

I was planning on running these lights on a new DD system. What you think of them so far?

Correct 400 W it is worth noting I did not bother acclimating to the new lights. I just switched them over one morning and left for 8 hrs the first day no negative effects since then, never looked back.

Well, I am getting through my Ich outbreak only a few left to Die, and I will be stable UGH. On another note I removed the MP60's, I have been using and replaced with a pair of Maxspect Gyre 280 units with the controller. I have to say the improvement in circulation is dramatic having that broad swath of water moving through the tank rally seems to lift up debris in a positive way.
I just setup with one of the canned programs and let it do its thing very much a set it and forget it install. I had had some of the early first generation units and the improvements to the second generation pump is dramatic

do you have any noise issue with the new gyre pump? the first gen are silent. the 2nd gen are like running a truck in my fish room. they send replacement motor, the noise only reduce a little. i did noticed the flow is stronger/more forward/better on the 2nd gen, but so noisy i cant use them at all.

Mine are not to noisy I have had to rotate the baskets a bit when I first bought them to get them quieter. Sound is much the same as my mp60's @ 70% were
