Jonty's latest Build thread (1 Viewer)

Once the rocks gets covered in coraline and all the SPS are encrusted and branching off the Tonga this is going to look amazing. Lots of tunnels, arches, and overhangs!

Idle hands...

The new aquascape looks nice, but dammit, Jon, you're making me nervous!!!
There's only ONE Joculator in your new FTS!!! Where's the other one???
Once I know the second fish is all right, then I'll look more closely at the rocks.

And I think you posted that monti picture on purpose. ;)

To be clear this is a replacement pair from New Wave as the original pair died due to my Ich outbreak last year.

I was aware of Joc Pair v2.0, but I just wanted to make sure there was still a pair.
The second angel must have been hiding out with the Harlequin Tusk; NICE!!!

Oh, wow!!! Check out the new Tonga Branch!
It looks like you'll have three times the real estate for corals with one-half the volume of your old rock.

I really like the Tonga Branch no little pockets to fill up with crap like the Pukani does. I was always shocked how much crap would blow out of the rock when I would direct a power head over the rockwork.

I really like the branching rock. I have something on a smaller scale I am trying. Hopefully it will all color up and then we are good to go. Great looking tanks.

Love it.

But every time I see tonga branch it leaves questioning what I am doing wrong. Why are my thickest acro branches are less than 1/10th as thick as those tonga acros? And if it is just a different species of acro - where can I get a live piece of tonga branch acro?

Wise words. The large surface area of Pukani that you love at first slowly turns against you over time and becomes yet another maintenance chore. The bigger the piece, the worse the effect.

I agree with this statement. Loved the look of the pukani but for my next build it will be back to Fiji rock or a mix of Fiji and tonga.

It's easy to get....just run about 100,000 gpm in your tank ;)

Strange still works for me?

Few updated pics before I tear it all down

Say, What??!!!
It was the montiporas, wasn't it?

What's the plan moving forward? You can't just drop a bomb like that and not elaborate.
