yea I'm just trying to firgure out how I am goin to do the plumming.. I only have one overflow box so I will use both of them for drains and I will just have to do a hang on return whick im not really a fan of but...

i think your plan will work fine with the drains that way, that would be the herbie method, if you have one line going to the sump, (put a gate valve on that end). (have the other drain as your emergency), (leave that open) and have your return go over the top, that is exactly how i have mine, only i have 4 drains on my 110.
i would go with ridgid pvc plumbing for that as well., keep us updated as you go for further questions.
i have a pic in my photoboook if you want to look at mine.

You're on your way! The expensive piece of your drain setup will be that 1" gate valve. If I had that to do over again, I would get one that's threaded on both sides. Another piece that seems to be tough to find outside of an aquarium store is the 1" strainer for the top of your drain. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could never find one in a hardware store. -A

yea i'm still trying to firgure out how i'm going to do the plumming on it and if i'm going to drill the LR or not. I would like to but i have never done it before maybe i will ask if theres someone in the rosemount area that could come over and help me on my LR or maybe some extra help on the plumming part.....

Hey thats a nice sump! I forgot to text you that picture of my return plumbing so here it is. - Mike

I can do 1" gate valves with threads or slip for 22 bucks. Let me know if you want one. I have one in stock but am likely going to use it on my new frag tank. I can get more in 24hrs or less though.

Your plan sounds good, you selected a nice skimmer and you can build a sump for me any time ;)

Lookin' good!

If you have the money, I'd replace the Sicce pump on your skimmer with the new octopus bubble blaster. That Sicce is only going to give you problems. Just my .02.

thanks again mike..... yea ryan I have been thinking about buying that pump but if I'm goin to buy new sand I will be low on funds...I havent looked at prices for sand yet but maybe i will have a lil extra money left over for the pump

What kind of problems? I've been running a Sicce on my SWC Extreme for 6 months now with no problems. And it was used so no telling how old it is. Josh, it will be loud at first but give it time to break in and don't clean it too often and I think you will be happy with it. Spend your money elsewhere!

Is it bad to have alot of angles on my return line? i will have two of them,im thinkin it will just slow the water flow alittle. let me know what you guys think
