I am very interested in a lagoon tank. I like the idea of a couple islands of rock and coral with plenty of space all around with sand. I have never doon a reef tank with sand.

For the most part I want more surface area for top down viewing.

What are your thoughts:
- glass yes

- depending on builder, some common heights are 12, 16, or 18 inches. Again, you can do whatever height but those are some of the price cutoffs before next jump in price

Length: 4, 5, or 6 ft
depth 36 or 48 in

My thought going in was 6ft x 4ft….but I don’t want to go too crazy.

Please share your thoughts.

If primarily viewing top down why not go acrylic? You could do a 6ft x 4ft by 1ft eurobraced tank

Sand wouldn’t be as much of a concern if you scratch the acrylic because the main viewing is from the top

Put lights on a motorized rack so they can raise up and down and flow turns off with the push of a button

Rock island coming out of the water in the center with some plants on it

And possibly mangroves?

Sounds like a dream tank
