LPS Eye Candy! (1 Viewer)

Can't remember what Brian was calling this. Reminds me of those candy buttons you get on paper strips. Finally coloring back up after a nasty reaction to LED's.

Crimson Tide Yet another shot. I just love this chalice; just keeps getting better!

what is that piece of garbage to the bottom left of the crimson tide? that thing is junk, i'll come over and "throw it away" for you. I know you only keep it there because its so low in the tank and you don't want to put you armpit in the tank :gay1:

I bet he just moved it around every time he takes a pic so it is in the background every time. Just to mock us lol

Yeah Brett. It's got the exact same underlying colors as the Ironman, but with metallic streaking all over it. That's why I figured War Machine seemed like an appropriate name.

And one of my coolest new acquisitions.

This thing is just amazing; it GLOWS. Probably the most unique of the "Flamethrower" types I've seen come out. The rim is a true orange and the red is almost hot pink and luminous.

I saw this the other night. Was wondering if I would ever find out who got it, well....well :greenguy:

No...those guys were just placed there for the photos. It was a good spot as far as distance from camera to objective, lighting, etc. After the pictures they were placed back on the sandbed where I normally keep them.

What lighting are you running over your tank? I have 3 T5s and 2 Stunners over my 29 gallon. My orange montis do great even on the bottom near the sand bed, but for some reason my ORA pink polyp cap is doing terrible mid-tank

How hardy are the encrusting montis (Rainbow, tropicana, sunset, etc.) compared to the orange cap?

Compared to an orange cap, I'd put the ones you listed on par.

What issues are you having with the pink polyp cap? I've found that one to be a tiny bit more sensitive, sometimes preferring less light. Is it browning out or bleaching? I've kept the pink polyp even in semi-shaded areas and the green just gets richer/darker. Too much light and it tends to get really pale, sometimes looking light blue, but being close to bleaching. The base should be a nice green color, so unless it's browning out, which would require some really low, crappy lighting, I would say it's probably getting too much light.

What 3 bulbs are you running, for how long, and what stunner strips are you using?

Sigh. Need to get my tank running so I can buy some stuff from you.

Pink polyp (two separate frags) was mid tank and got very pale so I moved them to the top next to the green slimer and on one frag it is bleaching and on the other frag it is getting a bit brown (weird since they are right next to each other). Green slimer, idaho grape, orange cap, cyphastrea, and birds of paradise have enough light so I don't think the brown is from lack of light. I'll try moving 'em down, but the future seems grim for the pink polyp cap.

x3 454's and x2 12.5" 6 watt Stunner LED 18-8000K White 6-453nm Blue stunners. I am stuck with the 18" bulbs so there is no blue+ and what not. When I change any one of the three 454's with a actinic white the Front half of the tank is blue and back half is stark white. There is literally a line in the sand. So I got the stunners since the 454's were just too blue for my taste. Bulbs are about 6-7 months old.
