Well after a couple months of researching and a month of collecting equipment and supplies, and on top of all that buying my first home, I have finally got most of what I need to start my first build :) I am very excited about this and I hope to post many many pictures of my progress! Hope you enjoy the show!

Got the wood together and started the stand today. Pictures of 2x4 frame and front face frame.

Over the past week i've been adding very light coats of black spray paint to the back of the aquarium, Finished it up tonight.

Well I close on my house Monday morning so i'm hoping to get as much of this aquarium equipment moved out of my room and garage that afternoon. I plan on finishing the stand tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by, should be a great time :)

--I Thank you ALL for the help and advice everyone has given me throughout this entire process, you guys (and gals) are great!

Really dude? You put us in parenthesis? :censor:

I will remember that!

All kidding aside - welcome to the addiction!!!!!

Suggestion on the stand- consider placing doors/access panels on both sides for easy access to your sump

I dont think your double 2x4 will hold the weight!

Lol a little overkill I know but I liked the design of it better that way, should be pretty ROCK SOLID ;)

The sides will be plywood "for now" and I say for now because I want to get this show on the road and not putz around with the little things, I plan on putting doors (removable hinges) on the sides but that's another days progress, probably during the cycle :)

Everything is looking good. Like the stand. Access to the sides would be nice but I understand the need to get it going!

Overkill? Not compared to my stand! I have way more lumber in my 40g fish stand and it takes 2 guys to move it. Better safe than sorry :brick::brick1:

I think my stand weighs more than my filled tank does. I could park my SUV on that thing in an eathquake and it would still be standing.:gay1:

Anyway, it looks great so far. Keep the pics coming.

The stand is making progress, all the wood is on, sanded, and painted (for the most part) I will start staining the stand and doors an 'Ebony stain' tonight. I went for the 'almost black, but up close you can tell its brown' look.

Siliconed the baffles into my 30g long sump a couple days ago, was able to get a picture of it last night. The wonderful workers at East side glass in st cloud didn't cut the 3 baffle correctly and was a little longer than 12" so it had to go in a little slanted.. no big deal but it looks like he** :censor:, but oh well its only a sump.

Just bought my first house, I'll do what I want! Lol, and the girlfriend can't say anything about it untill theres a ring on her finger.. :biglaugh2:

You'll want to keep the psi the same and possibly fill with nitrogen to keep the tank level.

It isnt as big as the Hindenburg but its close..

nice. what kind of skimmer?

Reef Octopus 6 NWB-150, thinking back I could of picked up a used bubble magus for about the same price but I think she'll do just fine! :D

Definitely! Throw it on your account, never knew you were in St. Cloud! When I get everything up and running you can stop over and check it out!

Done. Funny, I thought it was already there. Same goes for you, I have my little biocube 14 up and running and am building my 40br setup now.
