Is it possible too have too many of micro brittle stars? (lic is from a few months ago)
I've had hair algae start growing on my snails and was cleaning them off tonight. There were hundreds of these in the algae/ tankFB_IMG_1574043113338.jpg

There’s no detrimental issues with having a lot of micro-brittlestars in your system, but it can appear unsightly.
Their population levels seem dependent on how much of a food supply there is for them. So if you clean up the hair algae, their numbers will decline.
If you harvest them, plenty of people will gladly take some to seed their own systems.

What Jason said. Also, they’re nocturnal so you’ll really only see them when looking/working on the tank during lights out.

My tangs eat them like spaghetti so unfortunately I never see them, count yourself lucky!
