Nice setup! What setting do you keep your razor on? I have the 120 reflector and my razor nano, and it is the same height from the water as yours on a 14g tank.

Thanks!! I don't have the reflector and am actually kind of playing with the settings because some of my zoas were starting to melt. Right now I've got it at:

1 6:00 10% 15%
2 7:00 30% 30%
3 11:00 33% 33%
4 2:00 50% 65%
5 4:00 60% 75%
6 8:30 0% 20%

Hope that makes sense.

Do you then have the light on an outlet timer of some sort to turn it completely off over night? off sometime after 8:30pm and back on sometime before 7am

Mine is been 100% for 7 hours. Maybe I should tone it down.

I haven't read about too many people keeping their settings that high, but I'm definitely not the expert in that field.

Haven't updated this in awhile because not too much has changed (but the clown did start hosting the anemone!)… anyway, here are some pictures!

I had been having issues with my zoas not opening and so I started playing with the lighting and reducing it overall, but giving more blues instead of the whites and things are definitely starting to pick up. I am noticing them open more and more as well as certain ones regaining their darker colors, which has been great to see. I've also added a few new things to the tank this summer, so here are some pics.

These are two of the rock nems I got this summer with a sexy shrimp hanging out on them.

These are oxide zoas that I had gotten at the swap and have been opening more and more (they were fairly closed).

New zoas that I picked up from New Wave Aquaria - I love the colors!

New bta that I got from New Wave Aquaria as well - really happy with this one and it's coloring!

Definitely more blues than whites. When I had the Razor I end up turning the whites to 60% and go 100% on the blues. It stopped the bleaching.

Thanks! I didn't have much bleaching - my utter chaos got kind of pale, but it was more that they were all starting to close up. I didn't have the settings all that high (don't remember exactly what they were at), but lowering them and having a higher ratio of blues has definitely made an impact.

Almost two years after my last update for this tank, I am posting again. My goal is to get better at posting on this forum because I want to get better at what I do with my tank(s) and am looking for constructive comments/criticism in order to keep learning. You'll notice a lot of changes from when the tank was first set up until now, but the way it is at the moment has been stable now for quite a long time and I truly have been very happy with it all the way around.
More than anything, I am just trying to maintain and get my livestock as healthy as possible, although I have really been interested in leptoseris and have a nice little collection going :)
Thanks for taking a look!

Nice looking tank, Katie!
I agree with you. Keep posting in this thread; two years was way too long!

I envious of the way most people make those smaller tanks look.

Very nice! Love the pipe fish

The pipefish eats everything I feed the rest of my fish and has been for a long time now. I've had him for at least a year and a half. I feed a mix of mini mysis, reef frenzy, fertility frenzy, and every once in awhile I hatch baby brine shrimp. My fish eat well :)
