My 40 Gallon Rimless Reef has come a long way (1 Viewer)

I'm disappointed to say the mandarin kicked the bucket.... I believe he was driven into a stressful lifestyle with its bigger tankmates picking on him pretty frequently as they mature and become more aggressive...

I plan to go to michael's and get a lucite resin kit to preserve him so I know how pretty they are yet difficult to care for. Also I'm selling a fair amount of my premium zoa's growth since the last swap...

6 Month Update

Its been a while since updating this thread... But I got some new pictures for you guys, My tank has undergone some heavy pruning since I lost my job so unfortunately I wont be expecting the tank to be as lush as planned 6 months after I moved here.

With that said after 6 months I basically forgot about taking care of the tank and have only been feeding the fish for the past two months and cutting frags, I probably did one water change since I've moved and I must say the tank is doing great. Extremely stable and after checking my water parameters everything pretty much keeps itself in check for a while before needing supplements.

Heres another in water video of the tank, my black clown is now all about biting me non-stop the second anything take a dip in the tank.

And some pictures of how things are doing:

I see i'm not the only one with the annoying little red bubble algae.

Get a tiny little rabbitfish to eat it up. They love that stuff from my experience. Then once the rabbitfish gets to big take him in and trade for another small one. :beerchug:

Tank looks great like the vid!

Those clowns can be little devils. Saw yours going after your hands in your video. Had a pair of Maroon Clowns hosting in an Anenome for years. I would try and flick them when they would go after me. It did not deter them at all.

both of my clowns host in a rbta and they are just oscerlous (im bad at spelling i know) but for some reason they have no aggression whatsoever they just always think im feeding them haha what kind are yours?

Koletang antagonized me to update the thread so I specifically just spent the day cleaning the tank and even steaming the glass to get some great shots once I get a chance. Lately I've been busy trying to get ruiz0052 get his biocube set up and reluctantly fragging to make money to buy new stock.

I just got a coral beauty and it seems the terror squad of my black clown and dare I say it tailspot blenny have been whooping his butt if he spends too long grazing. I sure hope he doesn't start nipping at anything. I'll be sure to toss a video or two later tonight so stay tuned.

Any steam could remove most of whats on the glass with a lint free towel or t shirt to wipe things down.

I have a Hahn Steamer that has a glass attachment.
