My Condylactis Anemone (1 Viewer)

so far so good I have 0 amo and 0 on rates and rites but I am having ph and calc issues my calc floats between 290 and 340 I found this is because my kdh is high and am fixing that with air stones in my fuge hopefully when I get kdh down the calc with stabilize. My ph I am unsure of though how do I get that to level out? also my water is foggy I am using activated charcoal but it has been this way for about a day now and wont go away and suggestions.

Also all 3 of my condies have chosen spots and have stopped moving around allot also they have eaten again today I must say I had never seen one of these guys eat tell I got them in my tank and it’s amazing.

Don't worry about your pH. Get your alkalinity to ~8dkh and tryto keep it there... Water cloudy? Could be a few different things... Bacteria bloom, pollution, caco3 pre ipitation due to messing with the alkalinity too much.

IF you are having things swinging around on a daily basis, the best choice might be to stop everything. Let it stabilize, and then think about what supplements you want to use to make adjustments. If you just pour and dump you may never get it under control.

Lime water is also called kalk. If you search for that or kalkwasser, you will find tons of info.

Edit: didn't sound right

Couldn't that happen if he does something else to the tank and it all precipitates out?

While a number of my fish aren't necessarily captive breed, most all of my fish are "used fish" from others getting out of the hobby etc. so in a way I'm not directly taking away from the reefs as it was already done once.

I wouldn't be adding anything other than food for your condies and water changes..... you don't have much that will consume alk/ca at this point. When your coralline starts to grow, you will. So I'd research kalkwasser, search this forum, RC etc....

NEW CONDIE PICS I know since you were all worried about them dieing i thought i would give up dates on there health well they only have one issue they grow to darned fast.

6"-10" each is what you can expect. Did I see three in that tank? You may have a problem with them stinging corals as you add coral and they both grow.

They aren't really growing in this short amount of time.

They are still just acclimating and expanding to increase surface area for the zoanthelle. Anemones and many LPS will actually expand bigger in lower light than they do in higher light in effort to get the energy they need to survive.

I can see where you might get the impression they are growing but it's just too early.

there is only one issue with that if i am reading it right my type of condies are non photosynthetic altho i do see what you are saying i can assure you that in fact they are growing because they get exponentially larger after each feeding i measured my one guy a day before feeding and then a day after and he gained about a 1 1/2 also I see what you are talking about acclamation my response to that also is that they go form large to small when they are disturbed if i put my hand in the tank to move rock or something like that I believe that i have seen them fully open and they are larger every time i feed. I duno if that makes sense its just what i am observing.

also my water today is still stable i have little to no ammo rites and rates but i am still battling ph and calc

Trust me young Jedi, they aren't growing in this short amount of time. Anemones can take in and out large amounts of water to both expand and contract. It can shrink down to the size of quarter and expand back out to 6+ inches in a days time. That's what they do....
