Yes, the cabinet light does come on when you open the door ;)
The cabinet is an Oceanic tech so it has smoked glass doors on three sides.

Funny thing was I was half joking when I wrote it, then I posted and thought... I bet he is going to say yes:gay1:

WOW! can you say PURPLE?! I'm definitely enjoying the lighting! Your thread has me convinced about the panoramas! I will definitely be doing those next!

Is that a purple and yellow wrasse? I love your choice in fish, very unique!

Haven't you heard current LEDs are a waste of money and can't support our reefs! Haha no seriously though your tank looks great and I love it! Tagging along to see the advances.

The wrasse is a Golden Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse

I know I said this already, but it's worth repeating-

Your choice in fish is awesome, and definitely not a group that you'd normally see. They're a beautiful mix! Just out of curiosity, are you going to keep the chevy in the 57 or move it as it grows? As for the wrasse- googled it. Yours is by far the prettiest one I've seen! Nice find!

Looking good, buddy!

The Tang will be moved when it gets to 2-3", either to a larger tank I own or sold on, I don't think I will have trouble finding takers :)
Thanks for the appreciation.

Jon your setup is a work of art. You have an exceptional collection! I marvel at your ability to keep it so clean. When I finally give up on this breeding nonsense I'm going to create a shiny all new rimless. Nice work! Feel free to post more photos for us to drool over.

I have had a few people ask if I have a cover on my tank.

I do and I thought I would post a few pictures.

I built the frame so it fits inside the tank and then glued a small aluminum plate on the frame at each corner that fits on top of the tank but doesn't extend past the glass. I also used black egg crate along the back so that the ATO,return and center overflow could be accommodated. The result is a very unobtrusive cover that I don't feel detracts from the rimless look.
the color balance is off on the pics sorry.

LOL of course not

Wow wow and wow. I've been playing with the simplicity ideas for a while and now this has given me even more ideas. Of course I'm not planning something smaller... I'm not even sure of what all of the stuff in that sump is for. I'll definitely be following this though.

Since I'm still completely new, can I ask what the dual outputs from the the sump are for?

the single return pump is T'd and I run the excess flow off back to the sump and/or through the GFO/carbon reactor. I have to thank SWE for showing me how.
