Here's a pic of my new zoas (thanks Sneeze)! They are hanging out in a quarantine tank. Of course I irritated the one on the right side just before I took the pic. Sorry if the pic is poor, my camera is not here right now and it is the best I could get with my cell phone.

The chunk of rock in the back right has a toadstool frag. I'm not sure if I did that right, I've got pantyhose over it until it attaches.

Looks like the toadstool is going to rob a bank.....ok that was dumb time for me to go to bed.

on a side note if your going to the frag swap I will have your Fire and Ice zoos for you.

I got a giggle out of that one. So, did I overdo the panty hose? :gay1: First time I've tried to get something to attach itself to a rock.

I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out about the frag swap - thanks!

Hey, that's a really good use for an undergravel filter panel. I never woulda thought of that. :) Good-lookin' zoas, too.

I did not have any egg crate. So figured the UGF propped up on 2 magfloats would work alright. I didn't want to throw the frags on the bottom of the tank. Hopefully it will work all right until whenever I pick up some egg crate. I think I'm finally getting the hang of some of this reef stuff (it's just taken me awhile).

What color are the ones in the middle? They look like they could be sweet!

They are green. I like the coloring on them all, I can't wait to get some better pics of them once I get my camera back. I think I may just try to do some fragging of my own after I am done quarantining them.

Uh oh, and the downslide into reef addiction continues....

Thank you very much  After I picked them up from you I showed my sister and she was not very impressed with the "stuff" in the baggie. I had to email her some pics to show her how beautiful they are when they are in the tank.

Amphipods don't hurt them at all, do they? I got real paranoid last night when I saw these bug looking things crawling on them. I did some looking at pictures online and they are amphipods. Most people say they are fine for zoas but I found a few people say they eat zoas. Are they okay??? Or do I need to do something about them?

I have no basis for this but I believe they only bother them if the zoa is 'sick' I have a colony that has been struggling and they are all over it every night but leave the others alone.

lol...I looked at the pic first before reading that you had pantyhose over the toadstool...I was like !@!@*&^@$*(! toadstool!?! haha

Is there a better way to hold the toadstool to the rock? I'm happy that a few people have gotten a kick out of it. I've done plenty of silly things with my fish tanks. Finally have a picture to prove it. Can't wait until I have friends over - pantyhose in the fish tank

when i mount pie-pieces of toadstool, i take two rocks and smash the "foot" end of it inbetween them. after a week or so, it's probably holding on to both of the rocks and i just peel one away.

for small frags i use super glue, which works most of the time. for larger frags i use needle and thread and go through the base once and tie it onto a rock. you can use nylon string and just cut it off so you cant see it after it has attached.

i too had a difficult time understanding the toadstool frag in the picture until i read some more.
