Hey folks- its time for another exciting episode of "Name that Starfish" Everyone's favorite show.

It looks similar to one on Chucks addiction but can't tell.

And the next question if you can name him....is he reef safe?

Asternia? I think its called.

Completely harmless, you will often see leg parts missing since they are always dividing.

I just got 2 of those on frags today and was wondering the same thing.

Most of the time the will just eat algae or detritus, but some types will go after coral from what I've heard.

some are reef safe and some eat zoas.

the white ones are the safe one i believe, that one looks like the nibbler (non white ones)

Asterinas are what most call them, i call them Eddie and Marvin... depending on the day.

I have had them wipe out zoas. And others leave them alone. I let them stay in the tank, but if I see them on any zoas I pull them out. Just to be safe.

Just to be safe, I yanked them... I saw them creeping towards the new zoas.
