Need A New Skimmer Pump (1 Viewer)

Any recomendations for a cheap pump for a skimmer? Mine stopped working yesterday and upon inspection today i found a hole in the casing. I think water got inside the motor section and shorted stuff out. I have no idea what made the hole though. Its a mystery.
 
ahhh those are known for dying. you need a venturi pump to replace it then. what model super skimmer?
 
the guy i got it from told me it was the 125G one but i cant tell for sure because it looks slightly different from all the pictures on the internet
 
So does anybody have and suggestions for a pump model? I know that it needs to be able to do venturi but otherwise I'm shooting in the dark here.
 
Sorry, I can't say much for your specific model of skimmer. If the Sicce PSK will fit your skimmer, don't get the 2500, get the 1000. The 2500 impeller can go in either direction randomly and it caused my skimmer to overflow half the time. I changed to the PSK1000 and don't have this problem anymore. I have a completely different skimmer from you tho. I also don't know what qualifies as "cheap" skimmer pump. Good luck!
 
You'll probably have to call a supplier...I got the same skimmer in a package deal and its been missing a pump for years, I have yet to see any site explicity say what type of pump it is.

That being said, you need a new skimmer anyways! It says its good for a 125g, but personally I wouldnt use it on anything bigger than a 55g.
 
Yeah but all i have is a 40Br so i think its gunna stay for now. Unless someone has a better skimmer + pump combo that will cost me less than just a pump :)
Doubt that is gunna come around for me though.
