I am getting married in a couple short weeks and to surprise my soon to be wife I just purchased a Canon 60d with a canon IS 18-55 and a tamron 75-300 lens kit

I have some experience with DSLR but does anyone have recommendations for books/websites to get my proficiency level up a little

Nice!

photography-on-the.net is a good Canon focused site. There are some good threads there on the basics too if you need to refresh on that.

Awesome, Luke! I really liked Scotty Kelby's books 1 and 2 out of his 3 book series. They show photos and Kelby states how he gets them. It's an easy read.

Oh ya! Cant wait to see some pictures. :beerchug:

Congrats on getting the camera! Your facebook post inspired me to do something creative with my camera for once. I'm in the middle of a 5 minute near-infrared exposure of my tank. :beerchug:

Rics came from vivalaraza
I used a Tamron 75-300 lens

Still need quite a bit of practice but not too shabby for my first attempt

I thought it seemed that the colors really blew up! Its actually easier I think to take the pictures under daylight. ;)
