My coral system includes two tanks coming out of the same sump.

One tank is a IM 170 with a footprint of 60in wide x 30 in deep.

The second tank I use as a frag tank. It is a Fijicube 76 with a footprint of 48 wide by 24 deep

Knock on wood my system has been very stable. So I might as well mess around right now? Whatever changes I make will be slow and new rocks will be well conditioned and seeded. But no big bang approach.

I like to aquascape, plain and simple I like setting up new tanks. I have a bunch of Caribsea rock like below, and a bunch of negative space rock structures I have built.

My current build is a bunch of islands using dry rock glue together to make interesting shapes. I like it.

So why change….something to do I guess.

Any recommendations on something new or cool?

Are you saying you’re going to add a 3rd system? Or change up one of the two you mentioned?

I think some of “floating” scapes can be pretty cool. Like supported somehow from the back wall such that there is a full swimming space under the structure.

I also have dreams of doing a drop tank someday. I know flow is a huge pain, but I think they look so awesome. A big rock face on the drop off. Lit from a 45 degree angle so that front view almost has a top down look.

Not sure how crazy you’re thinking of getting.

I currently doing the same. I have a rock wall in my current tank that I’d like to rescape. I have some rock that is drying right now that I’m going to start working with. My plan is to do it in thirds. Good luck with your adventure.

I keep waiting for someone to run some dry rock through a bandsaw and do a Minecraft tank………
