new Tank (1 Viewer)

Thanks Pete. Picked up some nice sps lately and a nice yellow tang. I really love how well things are growing. As soon as I get this roof job I will meet up with you and get you your frags.

Love how the tank is coming along. Puts my tank ( which I thought was good ) to shame

Thank you, but I like what you have done with ur cube. In no time you'll have a fully stocked tank and need to do an upgrade. HEHE.

impresive, beats watching TV while you eat. Very nice cabinetry work!:greenguy:
Thank you. My boys arguing during dinner has completely stoped. I had to laugh at this a little. The cabinet is 2x4 legs sanded and painted. Crown molding left over from jobs, and some fluting ripped down to fill in the gaps. A little deco to the front of some sanded cdx, primer, paint. Nothing fancy.

You tank looks bigger than mine.:brick1:

um that's what she said.......sorry couldn't help myself.

Tang seem to be one happy camper. Swimming through all the nooks and crannies. Clowns don't even seem to notice him. Think I'm goona take some bar keepers friend to the reflectors tonight and get them looking new again. Other then that looks great.

Wow, very nice! The corals are very lovely and look quite happy! It's a very nice tank and I agree, the placement of the tank and the stand and canopy are aesthetically pleasing.

How do you like going bare-bottom? Have you began growing coraline on it to necessitate routine glass scraping?

Luv the bare bottom. No coraline on it yet, Clean up is a breeze. The maxijets put all the debri in the left and right corners and easy to siphon out. Snails keep the rest clean.

Snagged up a spiney urchin yesterday. No pics yet still hiding. Hopefully by this afternoon ill see him out enough to get a pic.

Update time...... Not much has changed, urchin that I picked up has now eaten at least 3 of my frags. And I mean they were about 1 inch frags and now I'm left with the encrusting on a rock. Not sure what I'm gonna do. Prob just leave it in there and pray it doesn't eat anything completely gone. Other then late all is well. Not a lot of huge growth yet moat things are still encruating. Been working sun up to sun down 7 days a week. So don't get to see the tank much. But in the blue moon lights things look well.

No more urchin.......Now royal gramma. No hopefully the hundreds of dollars in corals that are now left as nubbs can heal and start to grow again.

Thanks for the heads up on your build. Very nice!!! AWESOME AWESOME looking tank!!

I will keep my questions specific to your build and not clutter it with mine. Let me know if I do please.

What are you using for a heater? Is it hidden behind the rock??

Also having the bare bottom do you have any regrets??

With 5 gallons bi-weekly I assume every other week? Do you find that you may need to dose two part?

How long are your lights on? I see you mentioned 2 one and then 4 for a boost and then two for the rest of the day. Are you running the blues/actinics in the beginning and the end with the aqua special during mid day?

How high are the bulbs raised from the top of the tank?
