Many Leathers and softies do put off chemicals to inhibit calcification, could be other chemall warfare going on as well. I only has lps and apa in my frag tank with softies, but they have alot of room and more water dilution. Also, im glad I saw your post. I just checked my "maintenance free" ozone setup, and it wasn't even injecting the ozone into the reactor. Save $500 building a reactor, gain a headache.

So I stiil have Kenya tree in my tank and have for years, But can't seem to get may newer additions of lps or monti's to stick. Could it simply be
the kenya?

Unlikely, unless it's massive, but I have read a few places that guys struggled with new sps until they removed a GREEN devils hand leather. Looks like you've been doing this a while, but don't forget about simple things like calibrating refractomwtwr with calibration fluid. Just helped a guy who did his with ro. But what was showing 1.026 was actually 1.020! I was pretty said the lps I sold him died in 2 days. Pretty sure that was the cause. And, don't rule out pests. Some pests will deviate from thier preferred coral species.

So far so good. Things are still doing well.

If I could get my engineer goby to stop burying stuff it'd be better.
