OCD kicking in! Do you reply to PM's before or after the original message? (1 Viewer)

My OCD is starting to go crazy... When I'm replying to someone's PM, I always write my message above the previous message (like an email reply). Many people around here write their message below my message. Does it drive anyone else a little crazy - or is it just me? If someone writes below your message, do you follow suit?

Some don't copy the message at all, deleting everything and replying. I can't say I've OCD'd about it, but I've noticed it.

If I get to choose by being the first to respond, I reply below the original message.
But if they've made the first move with adding the reply to above the previous message, I will follow suit.

I didn't even think about it till now, by default it puts your reply at the end. I prefer the reply at the top.

Ha ha, your not the only one, Kevin. I always reply at the top like an email just like you do, and most people reply to me at the bottom where I need to scroll. This gets a little frustrating when the message is multiple pms long.

Its easier once you realize none of us have anything important to say. Then you can delete all of them with impunity.

Case in point there.

They took away my PM privileges for some reason.

It was alot of reasons actually, starting with the multiple harassment lawsuits.

Same here.

Its really annoying when half way through an exchange of messages people flip their method. So there will be in order for 2-3 messages and then the next reply will be above everything and the next is below everything and because everything is quoted it becomes a huge mess.

I really like nano-reefs message system if you've seen it. All exchanges pertaining to a certain topic are all grouped together and they show the number of replies. I can delete 1 topic and all 20 messages get deleted compared to here when I have to manually delete each one, or save the last one if everything was quoted correctly. On NR inside each message chain there are no quotes. Everything is a standard reply similar to a forum thread. First message at the top and new replies are at the bottom.

FWIW, I always hit enter to bring the previous message down and type above it. It just makes sense to me.

The best is when the reply is is the quotes. Its like a game to find their reply... I just LOVE IT! OH BTW: I reply on the BOTTOM of the message like a normal person... haha

I just reply just as it comes up. It doesn't make a difference to me.
