Odd Apex behavior.. (1 Viewer)

I can relate to the vet bill. I had one of those situations recently as well. I’m pretty lazy about updating the firmware on my Profilux and don’t use it anywhere near it’s potential but evenso it never skips a beat doing what it needs to do. In fact I underuse it so much sometimes I question why I even have a controller at all. I need to step it up.

Hope you get the Apex straightened out!

Its funny that you say that, For the longest time (About a year) My apex was nothing more than a glorified powerstrip that told me the temp of the tank.

That’s about what mine is now. All of my pumps have their own controllers. The P4 acts as the light master but wouldn’t have to either.

So I monitor/control temp and pH and salinity and my top off and that’s about it. Pretty sad for a $1000+ piece of kit.

Update....

The issue is actually network related it appears.

More info:

My apex is connected via ethernet, I upgraded to gig internet through comcast about 6 months or so ago, but the issues did not start at that time. I would say about 2 months ago was the first issue I saw with the apex. Fast forward to about a month ago, my home network was being odd. A modem and router reset fixed that for a while but the issue came back. I then factory reset my router and re-set all of it 2 days ago as i got fed up with the connection dropping out while i was trying to game. Still was having issues, so I contacted comcast. There was a sync error between their servers and my modem, the resent the configuration to it, I re-booted it and the network has been solid since then. Ironically my apex also has not had a reboot since then either. Fingers crossed that his issue is over!

UGH - I hate all the variables when it comes to situations like this. Well done on sticking it out to the end. I had multiple network, slow WiFi etc issues recently.

I got sick of trying to rule out all the variables and hired a guy. What he thought would take him 15 minutes turned into an 8 hour job.

Only ran me $120.00 total : )

The frustrating part of it all is that that makes no sense at all to me. How/why would a unstable ethernet connection POWER CYCLE my apex. Im fine if it drops from fusion throughout the day or something like that but how on earth can it cause the entire system to shut down, and turn back on...

I work in IT, so it makes me physically Ill any time I have to call Comcast for help. Even more so if they have to send out a tech and I have to pay them lol

I know the feeling. I was on the phone with them for hours when I moved to my new house because I brought my own hardware.
