I need to glue acrylic to ceramic and was wondering if Pc11 is a good choice? It is a two part epoxy and the msds says it is insoluble in water. Does this mean it is reef safe? here is a link to the msds if you understand them better than me.

This looks to be a great bonding agent, if you know of a reef safe glue for bonding ceramic to acrylic please let me know. Thanks in advance, Les

i dont have the slightest clue whether or not it is reef safe, but just because its not water soluble doesn't mean its reef safe. could be other chemicals and stuff that can leach out.

is there another product that works for bonding acrylic to ceramic that is reef safe?

I'm by no means an expert but if it says not water soluable that should include all the chemicals in the epoxy and that leaching would not be an issue.

What are you trying to accomplish, how strong of a bond does it need to be ? For non-pressure situations, I'd think silicone should be adequate to keep it in place.

some really thick weldon like weldon 40 would probably work if you roughed up both the surfaces you are attaching before glueing

I am making a ceramic protein skimmer, I need to glue the acrylic cylinder to see where the bubbles are and I read that silicone is not a good adhesive for acrylic. Is fiberglass epoxy good for acrylic? Thanks for the help, Les

Thanks mary Ill look up weldon 40, Ive never heard of it , but I haven't been doing much DIY. Again thanks for the help, Les

I've got about 3/4 of a pint left from winter projects. I'll drop in the fridge at the store today with a $5 price tag. If you are interested give us a ring and we can hold it for you a couple days.

Is it the weldon 40? I am in Japan until the 12th so I wont be able to pick up anything until after that. Thanks, Les
