Just found out that two leds are dead on arrival. So ill have to wait to finish the rest. Ill be hooking and turn them on later tomorrow, hopefully. My sps's are not getting enough light frm the two t5s. I really need to finish this prject.

Wow!!! Nice setup, just catching up on your build. Really like the minimal rockwork - I think I'll try something similar when I redo the rock in my tank and just toss the extra in my sump.

Ray had pointed me in your direction regarding the DIY LEDs. Is the entire LED setup from RapidLED? I'm debating between 2 Evolutions 120w 20k modules and a 48 LED setup from rapidled - of course this all depends if I don't get laid off and get a decent tax return! ;)

Great progress and keep it up! :beerchug:

Thanks Glenn,

Just went through your thread again. Lovely how mature it is, i can't wait for mine to be coralline'd like that.

Yes the entire setup was through RapidLed minus the fans. I'll be using blue LED lit up fans as they will be a moon light supplement. Kill two birds with one stone type deal.

That was what i was debating at first. I figured this way if any goes wrong i can replace the LEDs much quicker than with the Evolutions. But this DIY project has been a great deal of hassle. Soldering, wiring, configuring, building, dimming... It is a lot of work.

On a side note, I contacted Mike at RapidLed about the two dead cree's. Hopefully i can get replacements and not hassle through shipping the old ones out. I can't wait that long. If so, i rather just buy them due to shipping time.

Sweet! Just lit up the first 24 ! And it works.

All of them are running 60* optics. They'll be about 7-8" off the surface water.

Rapid just got back to me. They want me to send them the DOA LEDs and then they'll send me new ones. I can't wait that long. I would rather just buy two new ones for $12. Damn....

For anyone that may try to do this please read this!
The RKL ALC cannot run 4 meanwell drivers. It does not have enough juice. I have to build some sort of power jumper for the blues. I cannot understand this diagram . Can anyone help me build such a circuit?

Looks really good! I'm guessing that you'll have a splash guard for the LEDs?

And the skimmer - picture says enough!

Now get those LEDs in the canopy! Oh yeah, what are you doing for cooling in the canopy?

-Glenn

Yeah im still trying to figure out the best way to build a splash guard for it.

I will be using 4x 120mm Blue lit LED fans made by aprevia on each heatsink.. They will be my moon light supplements also.
