Amazon socks that say they are 5 micron. They do seem very thick but they are so far not restricting my flow. The tank is new and glass was cleaned b4 the photo so im pretty sure its the water but it could be some tough film I guess I will condom is not when I'm home.

Probably a bacterial bloom then. Did you increase your feeding since moving to the bigger tank? You're basically running a 140gal tank on a 40gal bio filter until it matures more. You can try shoving one sick inside of another. That won't get it to be 2.5micron, but should make it a finer filter. As the socks get dirty, they collect finer particles too.

Close redsea stand but a fiji tank. Not sure that's much safer but you gotta live a little.
