So it appears one of my apex ph probes finally died, it reads ph of 8.5-8.6, if I put the probe from my other system in that tank it reads a more normal 7.9-8.0.

Having never needed to replace one before, am I better off going with the apex lab grade probe or is the brs lab grade just as good or is there something better? I can't complain as this is the original standard ph probe that came with the apex lite 3.5 years ago.

For our purposes, it doesn't really matter much. BRS one is fine to use.

So you cleaned the tip well and tried to calibrate it ? It could be electrical interference causing the drastic difference. If you put some tank water in a cup. Move the cup so the cords are as far away from all other cords as possible does the reading change ?

If your around the 18month - 2year mark its probably time for a new one anyways.

It was cleaned and calibrated in Nov, I haven't tried moving out somewhere else yet.
